Central Utah Clinic Welcomes David Fairbanks, MD, Family Practice Physician
Central Utah Clinic is pleased to welcome David W. Fairbanks, MD, FAAFP, family practice physician.
Dr. Fairbanks began his practice with Central Utah Clinic the first of January. His office is located at the main Provo campus, 1055 North 500 West, Suite 205. He is currently welcoming new patients. Appointments can be made by calling 801.812.5033. Walk-in patients are also welcome. “Timely access to medical care has been a concern for many people,” said Dr. Fairbanks. “Our schedule of open access allows patients same-day service.” Office hours are currently Mon. through Fri. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with plans to expand to weekends sometime in July 2010.
Dr. Fairbanks is board certified in family medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He brings with him over 19 years of military and civilian experience in all aspects of family medicine including inpatient and outpatient medicine, trauma, urgent care, surgery, gynecology, occupational health, addiction management, sleep disorders, men’s health and disease management. He is a published medical author and researcher.
Dr. Fairbanks brings a wealth of experience. He has worked in both the private and government sectors from small, rural community hospitals to large government systems. He has worked as an emergency room physician, family medicine practitioner, hospitalist and is currently Utah County’s Medical Examiner. He is also an adjunctive professor at Utah Valley University teaching anatomy.
Dr. Fairbanks completed undergraduate studies at BYU graduating cum laude. He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine with additional studies in general surgery at Washington Hospital Center. A family practice residency was completed at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and a fellowship in exercise cardiology at the University of Virginia Health Science Center.
Dr. Fairbanks is a decorated veteran and was deployed as an Air Force flight surgeon during Operation Desert Storm. He completed four tours of duty in Saudi Arabia. He was named the 7th Wing’s Flight Surgeon of the Year.
Dr. Fairbanks, his wife Carol and their three children reside in southern Utah County.
